ABORIGINAL MASTERS & DOCTORAL AWARDS

Columbia University:

Open to Indigenous Students (Status, Non-Status, Metis, and Inuit) pursuing a Masters or Doctoral level degree at a BC public post-secondary institution.

The Award is valued at $5000 and can be renewed for up to four years.  Approximately 50 Awards are granted annually.

Columbia University Applicants must demonstrate in their application that they have been involved in non-paid community service and can provide references as to the nature and extent of this service. (Extenuating circumstances which have limited an applicant’s ability to participate in non-paid community service can be considered.)

What You Should Know

The application deadline for submissions was March 31, 2018. Students will be advised by email on the status of their applications in mid-June.

Student Award
$1000-$2000 (multi-year) for students pursuing trades training, apprenticeships, diplomas, certificates or undergraduate degrees.

Masters/Doctoral Studies Award
$5,000 (multi-year) for students pursuing Masters or Doctoral studies.

Teacher Education Award
$5,000 (multi-year) for students pursuing a teaching certificate.
